Hey guys. I saw the Peace Walker trailer, and I thought it was great. One thing I noticed (you said people could send you their interpretations haha) was that there was four snakes at once in one of the scenes. From this, I think that the game may contain a plotline involving the Les Enfants Terribles project. Four Snakes = Big Boss, Solid Snake, Liquid Snake and Solidus Snake. Just a thought that I had. I do have a question also... are you guys allowed to talk about what was up with the scar on Big Boss's chest? It was just like the one that the Boss had in MGS3. Come to think of it, you're probably not, I'll bet that it's a cool part of the story.
Kojima Productions is the best games developer in the world. You never fail to disappoint.

I love everything about Peace Walker and I believe we're getting awesome 4 player co-op. Yay. About the Raiden game all I have to say is - More MGS to more players. Bring it on.

Peace Walker looks sick. Wish it was coming for PS3, guess that means I need to shell out some money for a PSP.

What other announcements can you guys possibly make? Look forward to them. Faith restored with Peace Walker. Still iffy on Rising.

The game (PW) seriously looks amazing and it's something I've been waiting for since MGS3 - i.e. the gap that fills in Big Bosses story after MGS3 (techically PO did that too I guess). The only thing I'm kind of disappointed about is the choice of platform you guys picked for this huge and monumental sequel. This could turn out to be the most important MGS yet and it's (I'm afraid) going to be held back by the PSP. We could have had this amazing next gen game and instead we get stuck with last gen visuals and design (that is, since it will be built around the PSP).

Still, I'm very much looking forward to seeing and hearing more about this game and who knows, maybe I might get a PSP someday to play it.

I want to say the story is going is going to start with Big Boss betrayed once again. This Outer Haven might be Zero's Haven and not Big Boss's Haven. We could see how the split between Big Boss and Zero happens. This is what I am getting out of the video along with playing the other Metal Gear games. Man I can't wait!

Please clarify the status of Portable Ops given the announcement of Peace Walker. MPO was suppose to be the "missing link" between MGS3 and MG1. And now Peace Walker is announced as the first "real deal" on the PSP, as the first full chapter on the PSP. What does that make MPO? Please confirm the status of that game. Is MPO a side-story? Was it a spin-off? Was it part of MGS3? What is it's status?

I think if we read the Metal Gear Solid encyclopedia that came on PSN and the ''MGS4 strategy guide'', we can make up the secrets behind Big Boss's "transformation"

he tried to found his mercenary nation ruled only by anarchy and violence. It wasnt his first intention, but he got obsessed with having no rules at all, no laws, no governments, no nothing. he had been so betrayed by his government and his friends (founders of the patriots) that he became obsessed with having the opposite of authority, the opposite of ''order''.

and snake didnt go in intentionally to Outer Heaven to kill big boss. during snake's first mission, big boss was officially his commander. only after that did we learned that he was also the commander of the outer heaven mercenaries. and snake (the son) all his life was a pawn of the patriots. big boss and the patriots were at war, and the patriots controlled every government on earth, including US. so in fact, THEY are the ones who sent solid snake, they wanted him to kill big boss. same in mgs4; its in fact them in mgs4 who sent solid snake to kill liquid ocelot as he was trying to, apparently, take over the whole world. but truth is ocelot turned out to know that snake is used by the patriots and to have put up a decades-long plan to bring them down. ocelot during the events of mgs4 pushed snake and his allies to destroy the patriots and kill him. ocelot sacrificed himself after decades of trying to find redemption for his past.

poor big boss..."military deterrence''...he saw the opportunity in creating Outer Heaven to be freed from the governments and his former friends's growing evil ambitions, he just wanted to find peace i guess...but with time his peace project slowly turned bad, he tried to fight evils from all sides and saw himself starting to act evil to fight the evil, he became obsessed with "having no rules,no laws, no governments'', he became obsessed with anarchy.

unwillingly big boss became what he swore to fight against, he became like his ultimate foes...his fight with the patriots changed the world, destroyed the world, they initiated a never ending war, a world of tyranny that would only end at the end of MGS4 where Ocelot, along with Naomi Hunter, EVA, Otacon, Sunny, Raiden, Colonel Campbell and of course Snake, destroyed the ''inside world'' and created the ''outside world''. at the end of MGS4, big boss said ''it all started with a bunch of fools...''...I am sure he was talking about himself as well...

Big Boss's generation's mistakes were handed over to Solid Snake's generation. At the end of Solid Snake's generation, only then did the heroes (especially including Ocelot) find redemption and peace.

Portable Ops was agonising to play.

You have a fantastic MGS4 PS3 engine (apart from the framerate) make use of it.

This is disappointing. I bought a PS3 just for MGS4, and now Kojima-san wants me to buy a PSP to continue to play the series? This is also disappointing because I loved MGS3 so much. I'd be extremely happy with a PS3/360 version of Peace Walker, but a PSP version? Not so much.

i'm excited Big Boss is back. MGS3 is my favourite in the series and i replayed it many times so much fun. Although i am disappointed his next adventure not on PS3 :(.

I can't get enough of Big Boss & another certain Metal Gear character which leads me on to my question: will Gray Fox/Frank Jaeger feature in the game??? I hope to see a Metal Gear game just for Gray Fox one day as he is my favourite character & one of the most important characters concerning the story but gets little notice.

I love the Metal Gear series, not everything about it but it is definitely my favorite game series. That said, I have some complaints/concerns I'd like to register.

-Maybe it's just me, but the first time I saw the "Peace Walker" trailer, I was concerned Mr. Kojima might've jumped the shark with this one... in some ways... the first time I saw it... in some ways...

-I'm sad I won't get to play as Big Boss on the PS3. I got Portable OPS last year and couldn't even get half way through it because my hands kept cramping. Yes, I'm one of those "No dual thumb stick = critical design flaw" people... and it's for that very reason.

-For anyone else who feels like I do, I hope the method for story telling for these next games is more along the lines of story telling and less on angst riddled philosophical monologuing. Sometimes I feel like MGS has more ham and cheese than Kraftfoods. Since I didn't get through POPs I don't know if that one was like that.

-Last... about Raiden... in MGS2 he was an androgynes sissy (on purpose!). In MGS4 he was an androgynes emo sissy with a "cool" cyborg ninja veneer (to be fair to the character, if I was that confused I think I would have a lot of emotional problems too:D ...I still don't think he's "cool"). Now he gets his own game... I guess I was wondering if I could still expect to laugh at his absurdity. Hope not.

As I said before, I love the MGS games. They are my favorite games. In a twisted kinda way, even the things I don't like so much have a strange appeal to them... except Raiden. He makes me gag... and I laugh at him. Thank you guys for all the hard work you put into these games. I'm sure Peace Walker and MGR will be amazing in many ways... I'll wait and see as far as Raiden is concerned.

I was wondering if the multiple Snakes was meant to be a little misleading. I think it could be like a hint at an online mode in this game. Another commenter said it could be all the Snakes we have seen so far in the series, that could be a great idea.

Just by having a game on PS3 doesn't make it any better. I'm sure that most of you complaining are just whinning about graphics.

I think Kojima should make Solid Snake a playable character in MGS-Rising.

A bonus character exclusively for the PS3 . That would make MGS Rising far more appealing.

Wow, I'm looking forward to this game, I can't wait for the whole story of Peace walker, I hope this replaces MPO, I think MPO is non-Canon.

Saboteur, are you serious? MGS Peace Walker replacing MPO as you think it's not part of the Metal Gear canon??? MPO is as crucial part of the Metal Gear saga as any other game, despite it being on the PSP and despite MPO's lack of notice! Gene is one of the most important characters in the Metal Gear storyline, Metal Gear RAXA and the ICBMG are the first ever Metal Gears, and any game that features Gray Fox has to be given credit -all those things are in MPO.
The true Metal Gear fan has to love the story -graphics will come and go, consoles will change, but Kojima's story input will always be the most vital part.
I would even settle for Metal Gear novels, provided Kojima wrote them himself...

I don't mind the graphics, SniperEye. I just don't want the game play of MPO. I mean, its not like the traditional MGS. But hey, that's just me, and BTW, I loved the cutscenes on MPO, it's just the gameplay, taht's all, sorry^^.

Yeah, the MPO cut-scenes were great saboteur. I understand what you mean about the gameplay, even though I liked it. Just out of curiosity, what was it you didn't like about MPO's gameplay?...

What I don't like about the game play in MPO is that it became Mission-based and Recruiting soldiers which is not like the traditional MGS game play like MGS1,MGS2, and MGS3. That's just it.
