I too am a Metroid fan as well! Although was a bit dissapointed that this was a mini report...Oh well, I cant wait for PW's OST!

3v3 "vs mode" eh?

Sounds like infrastructure mode...Hopefully, atleast.

3 / j / January 21, 2010 8:31 PM

I get the impression peace walker is gonna be short now you mentioned in the podcast that multiplayer is included. I'm disappointed.

4 / Harry / January 22, 2010 1:28 AM

I really like the sound of the Deathmatch mode, PO's was very fun and the gameplay on PW is much better and online play can only benefit from that. I hope the inlcusion of online won't make the rest of the game suffer though.

If this Deathmatch is included, it really needs Infastructure, sorry but AdHOC party is only really reliable to play Monster Hunter in the west. Infastructure could benefit the Co Op too, but Vs Modes definatly need it.

Bit disappointed at another short report, but I guess we got a good announcement this time round so it's not too bad.

How extensive is the language translation process? 2 months between Japanese and Western releases seems a long time, especially since we know the English VA is done. Is this due to marketing aspects of the game, or purely an extensive translation process?

If it is the translation, I hope to god it is due to the deep, codec system from earlier titles. The lack of codec in MGS4 was one of my main gripes with the game, in previous installments, there were many Easter Eggs and replayability aspects just in the Codec.

Also, if you guys were thinking of expanding the online play through a seperate title (PO+), go for it. If it prevents the main game to suffer it is totally worth it, and I would definatly buy it (so long as it's a good addition to the previous online).

I'm interested in the Vs modes especially, the Co Op aspects of the gameplay would probably be even more beneficial and useful in Vs modes, using SnakeIn, ledge climbing, box hiding etc etc with your team AGAINST another team using the same, brilliant, deep Co Op aspects looks to be very, very fun. :)

Keep the reports coming KP. :)

7 / LastTimeListener / January 22, 2010 4:33 AM

i thought this was the kojima productions podcast not the we luv 360 podcast, seriousley did msoft tell u not 2 like ps3 games cuz last time i cheked they got a much better lineup for this year.

Maybe u guys are made cuz Uncharted 2 is being called the greatest ps3 game and not mgs4, thats wut happens wen u sell out.

8 / we want / January 22, 2010 4:41 AM

9 / Luke Wilson / January 22, 2010 6:31 AM

Awesome podcast, alot of info in a crunch podcast.

Also woo, the next podcast is on my birthday =D

Agree with Harry, deep and diverse codec conversation like in MGS1 and MGS3 would be really awesome.

Kind of hope the actual game gets harder than the Demo. I can get past most of the missions from the Demo just by running to the goal and letting everyone shoot me. In MGS4 it was already possible, but at least the maps were gigantic. Now it's really really easy to do that. And when it is neccessary to do some shooting (like "Stronghold" level), you just turn on Auto-Aim, equip your favorite automatic weapon and watch as everyone dies. No need to worry about ammo, there's plenty. No need to worry about your health either, there's plenty of rations too. I know you don't get rewarded for doing this (C rank and what not), but that's no excuse to take away any kind of challenge when it comes to just passing the stage. The Demo feels like "Very Easy" difficulty from other MGS games. Dumb AI, Blind AI, Deaf AI, too many ration, too much ammo. I also miss the guards "status report" routine from MGS2, but thats just me.

All in all, I'm sure Peace Walker will be the best game for the PSP, and a great instalment in the series. The Demo is already awesome.

Konami should make the game's marketing more aggressive, hype it more, make people want to buy PSPs just to play this game. I'm really REALLY hoping this game sells a lot, because it is being made by Kojima Productions, which means top quality work.

I'm disappointed that Castlevania: LoS wasn't mentioned in the report ;(

13 / Logitech / January 24, 2010 6:28 AM

Hi,
Could you please tell us, on the next episode, something about Digital Graphic Novel 2 for PSP? The trailer was shown more than a year ago and the program is already available on DVD in Japan. Is this project cancelled for PSP?
I’m looking forward for the new DGN and of course Peace Walker :)

Thanks in advance and sorry for my poor grammar,
Logitech

"I'm disappointed that Castlevania: LoS wasn't mentioned in the report ;("
Kojima Productions isn't making this game they only put in input/ideas and so on...I want to know if Metal Gear Solid:Peace Walker will get a PSN version for people who don't have a PSP also where is Rising info a little info wouldn't hurt would it?

15 / BossyBoss / January 26, 2010 1:29 PM

thanks for answering my question!

can someone type out the name of the lead artist that was mention in the podcast

16 / Harry / January 28, 2010 8:31 AM

@Andrey: I know what you mean, the Demo was far too easy. It's actually really easy to get "S", you just run up behind the guards, tap "L", run on and repeat. The hold up system is really easy in this one.

Is the difficulty in the Demo similar to press tasters, where the game is far easier than normal? (MGS4 they had 50 rations or something).

17 / TheMancho / January 28, 2010 11:33 AM

I was wondering if you guys could update your listeners with Castlevania LoS information? A ton of info has been released on twitter like the fact that the game has a God of War "static" camera, or the name of the composer! I love Metal Gear first and foremost but don't forget about your other games KP!

18 / Winnie / January 28, 2010 8:50 PM

Oh wow, I can't believe how addictive Piece Walker is. What a wacky, but awesome idea for promoting the game! Kudos for whoever came up with it!

19 / Dear KP / January 29, 2010 7:39 AM

please, bring us some update or news about mgs4 trophies! will there ever be one or will there be another version of mgs4 like the previous games (i would still buy it if it existed)?

(btw christine from kp, nice legs you had there in the previous kp report photo)

keep up the great report!

20 / Gerry / January 30, 2010 3:03 PM

Hi KJP! Longtime listener, one quick question, whats the deal behind Raidens new render change? When i saw it i shrieked in awe and jumped about the room (hes my IS favorite MGS character) anyway, keep up the quality work and MGSPW is a day one buy for me! Take care guys!

21 / SGD (SHOUT) / January 31, 2010 8:59 PM

I'd like to know more about Piece Walker, what will happen if I beat K1974? I'm itching to find out, I tell you! I've clawed my way to second spot and I've got my eyes on first place!

22 / SGD (SHOUT) / January 31, 2010 9:10 PM

PS. BossyBoss, I think they mentioned Yoji Shinkawa?

PPS. What are the two final downloads from the Piece Walker site?! Special Download Data coming soon?!

23 / Kelga / February 3, 2010 10:51 PM

Hi guys, the Peace Walker promotion site: Piece Walker is amazing! Good job to Yasuyu Watanabe and everyone that's involved!

I love the pun, the play on the word Peace/Piece and the idea of online multiplayer puzzle game really support the concept of the main game: CO-OP. well, in this case it's everyone for themselves. lol But still, it's connection people from around the world and having fun together. Its' really a good tease campaign, revealing more every week and rewards user for playing more.

Very, very good. Great concept and execution in the design. Well done KP, give yourselves a pat or more on your backs. (pat, pat lol)

However, just a idea from me, if you guys want even more exposure, get the site featured on the fwa site. It is a site dedicated on featuring top unique flash sites daily! Seriously guys, take a look at the site. many web developers or designers around the globe look to the sites featured there for inspiration or learn something new, and I believe there's much to learn from the Piece Walker site. Grab this opportunity to inspire even more people!

By the way, I think I'm kicking ass for the players of South Africa! lol

Piece out
